With Nikki Fried at the helm as Commissioner of Florida’s Department of Agriculture, Florida’s hemp industry is ready to become a multibillion-dollar industry. A bill was recently passed in Florida’s 2019 Legislative Session that directs Florida’s Department of Agriculture to adopt rules to administer Florida’s hemp program. Once Florida’s Department of Agriculture finalizes such program, the program will be submitted to and approved by the USDA per the 2018 Farm Bill. Once the USDA approves Florida’s hemp program, Florida’s Department of Agriculture will begin the licensing process. Mr. Cannabis Law predicts that the hemp licensing process will open in January 2020. Although it appears Commissioner Fried and the Florida legislature intend on opening up the industry to the free-market, there will still be several legal and business obstacles in starting your hemp business. That’s where we come in. We are the hemp industry’s reliable legal and business consultant that will help our hemp clients’ businesses to flourish in this multibillion-dollar industry.
